About being in the Indie Spotlight with Literary Lightbox
June 24, 2015

Since being in the Indie Spotlight with Loretta Milan’s Literary Lightbox, I’ve gotten new confidence about my efforts in being an indie author.

As a newcomer to this adventure, I’ve been overcoming and stumbling from challenge-to- challenge – whether it is getting enough courage to share my writing with the world, or figuring out the fine technical details of publishing an ebook and paperback with Amazon.

When Loretta agreed to feature me in her Literary Lightbox’s Indie Spotlight, it was a chance to really tell my story about my indie author journey to date, to an audience that is interested. I hope you will read my story here.

I found Loretta to be so supportive and kind to talk with and she did this via email and even a Skype session.

She truly shows passion and support for the commitment and dedication it takes to become an indie author and her Literary Lightbox is championing the hard work of of indie authors worldwide. She tells me that part of her mission with Literary Lightbox is to showcase and support indie authors – and she certainly is achieving this goal! Loretta is joining the ranks of being an author herself, as she is currently penning her debut novel.

I love thinking of her sitting in what sounds like a lovely garden here in England, reading books and drinking coffee. She also sent me encouraging feedback telling me that she enjoyed my book and that it was, in fact, “prophetic” about climate change.

My Indie Spotlight feature was published on Earth Day 2015, which is a terrific angle for the climate change angle of my book. The feature was also a great chance for people to discover the cli-fi genre, which my In Ark: A Promise of Survival joins. It seems many fans of the Literary Lightbox enjoyed the piece, with more than 300 people sharing the article via Twitter and other social media channels.

If you are an indie author interested in being featured or having your book reviewed by the Literary Litghtbox, then get in touch with Loretta Milan through her website. Tip: When you fill out her questionnaire, be sure to answer all the questions on-point and in detail, so that she can get a good sense of what you and your book are all about. Good luck!
