Follow the hashtag #InArk
July 5, 2014

For some fun, check out the hashtag I’ve created for my book ‘In Ark: A Promise of Survival’ —

#InArk

#InArk

#InArk

You can find me leaving little updates, photos, descriptions and other fun tidbits with this hashtag across Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Flickr and Tumblr.

I like to think of this layer of my book as being a “transmedia” element to my story telling. The hashtag allows me to incorporate multimedia elements, and social media channels, with my #InArk story. I like to think of this as a little viral meme that I am seeding across the Internet and building a little bit of a following.

Also, it seems that I am bang on trend in book marketing strategy, as hashtags are all the rage for new books this summer. Check out the article in The Guardian about this trend here.

In an article about how “#hashtag Book Titles Trend Is A Gimmick That Works – For Now” noting that rom #Girlboss to #Scandal, publishers are discovering a new marketing hook for hard-copy as well as online reading.

By the way, you can also follow the hashtag #clifi to find out more about this new literary genre about climate change fiction.
